Advancement Partners offers the most effective, comprehensive system of capital planning, execution, and follow-through. Each campaign is custom-designed for the client, addressing their specific needs and the unique characteristics of their institution and constituents, ensuring successful fundraising efforts during the campaign and beyond. The four phases of our campaign process include:

  1. Feasibility Study
  2. Campaign Preparation Phase
  3. Major Gift Solicitation Phase
  4. General Solicitation Phase

Feasibility Study

An intensive, two-month process that involves an in-depth review of your development operation, as well as interviews with top supporters and prospects. Through this process, we will determines the following:

  • The dollar range you will be able to realize through a well-executed campaign;
  • The willingness of your prospects to make you a top giving priority;
  • How ready you truly are to undertake a campaign and what steps you must take before beginning campaign preparation in earnest;
  • Board commitment to your mission and willingness to "lead" a campaign;
  • The set-up of your development department and its ability to undertake a campaign;
  • Proposed campaign budget, timetable, job descriptions, and action plan.

Campaign Preparation Phase

Effective preparation is essential for a successful capital campaign or major gift initiative. Our partnership with you will accomplish the following:

  • Identification and research of your top prospects;
  • Development of a sensible, relevant, compelling, and urgent case for support;
  • The setting of a financial goal that is aggressive, yet realistic;
  • Involvement of top prospects, leaders and staff in creating the case for support;
  • A "big picture" vision of your future initiated by your board;
  • Ownership and enthusiasm in your direction by your leaders and top prospects;
  • Creation of print and video materials to market your initiative;
  • Identification and recruitment of campaign leadership - a true "A Team" that will bring credibility and support to the campaign.

Major Gift Solicitation Phase

Only after proper preparation - usually five months - are you ready to solicit. In this phase, we help you achieve the following:

  • An appointment-setting system that enables you to schedule personal visits with your top prospects in a professional, relaxed and effective way;
  • Structured and personal solicitation visits where we join you in having a comfortable yet focused conversation, proposal and successful "close";
  • Thoughtful and appropriate follow-up with investors to acknowledge their generosity, answer questions, provide proposals, and build on their confidence and positive feelings toward the school.

General Solicitation Phase

Upon completion of the major gift phase, we work with you to develop a customized general phase that will achieve the following:

  • Strategies and timetable for effective implementation;
  • Preparation of print materials for mail solicitation;
  • Coordination of an event that "announces" the campaign;
  • Volunteer solicitor scripts and training, if appropriate;
  • Coordination with and enhancement of your annual fund.
